A new dog park opens on Adeline Street

Neighborhood dogs have a new place to run. On June 20, 2026, the City of Berkeley cut the ribbon on a fenced, 8,000-square-foot off-leash dog park on Adeline Street at MLK Jr Way, tucked under the BART tracks right at the Oakland–Berkeley line.

The shaded run has a wood-chip surface, a drinking fountain, benches, and trash cans. It’s part of a larger project that also added a tiny “Miyawaki” mini-forest at the southwest corner of Adeline and Stanford and new native plantings along Adeline between MLK and Alcatraz.

The roughly $650,000 project was funded by Berkeley’s Measure T1 bonds, its parks tax, and the general fund.
